Demoz Gebre-Egziabher

Dr. Demoz Gebre-Egziabher is an associate professor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.   His research focuses on the design of systems and algorithms for navigation and guidance of aerospace and ground vehicles.  He was the recent past secretary of the Satellite Division of the Institute of Navigation (ION) and associate editor of navigation for the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems.  He is the co-author/editor of the book GNSS Application and Methods.  He holds a doctoral degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and is a registered professional engineer.  Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Minnesota, from 1990 to 1996, he was a commissioned naval officer and served as a System Engineer at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Division of Naval Reactors in Washington D.C.  At NAVSEA he served as Mechanical and Fluid Systems Engineer (1990-1993) and later the Lead Systems Engineer (1993-1996) for the surface ship systems group.
